The Descendants

Born out of his passin for history, Drew recreates portraits of some of the world's most famous historical figures featuring their direct descendants.

After in-depth research tracing the direct descendants and verifying their lineage, the famous portraits are recreated with painstaking attention to the smallest of details. From sourcing the period costumes and props to the authentic backgrounds. Drew then carefully analyses the lighting in each portrait and patiently recreates them using the latest lighting techniques.

The end results often show startlingresemblances to their forebears.

Golden Greats

Britain's Oldest Olympic Gold Medallists in an Individual Sport.

In celebration of the Olympic Games coming to London, Drew produced this body of work to recognise this momentous occasion. Rather than focusing on the present he decided to look back, rediscovering Britain's past Olympic glories and the people behind them. In doing so he uncovered a rich sporting legacy.

In the run up to London 2012 the following portraits were shown in The Stadium Suite at the flagship John Lewis store in the Westfield Stratford City, London. With spectacular, panoramic views of the Olympic stadiums and village the space provided the perfect setting for this unique and historical collection.
